Neighborhood House, an integrated social service nonprofit, is in need of community volunteers to support their many services offered.
Interested in helping in a food pantry? Volunteers are needed to help at the Cesar Chavez K-8 Food Pantry! This food pantry serves a very multi-ethnic community, so it’s a great place for bi-lingual volunteers.
- Food Pick-up (Monday or Wednesday): Collect food from local grocery stores and bring to Food Pantry Location.
- Pantry Help: (Wednesday 4:30-7pm): Stock shelves, lead clients through pantry, help with setup and clean up.
Interested instead in working with youth? Volunteers are also needed for SUN After-School care. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to work with any age range and engage in any type of academic enrichment activity. The important thing is BEING THERE!
- Education Support (Afterschool, M-F 2:30-5:15) Help with reading and writing; tutor specific subjects; homework help; OR lead enrichment activities, such as sports activities, art lessons, dancing class, etc.
Want to volunteer? Please contact Jimmy DeBiasi, 503-246-1663 EXT 2117 or jdebiasi@nhpdx.org.
